Who we are
We offer opportunities for young people with disabilities to try out a variety of different sports and activities, with appropriate levels of support. The club is run by a small committee: Chair: Sally Eshraghi
01489 587150 We use qualified coaches to run sessions, supported by volunteer helpers. We get advice and support from: We have policies in place for Child Protection, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities. Funding is essential for us to operate. It comes mainly through grants from various sources: 2005 Awards for All (Lottery) - £5000 to set up the club 2005 Wessex Downs Syndrome Association - £1000 2006 Local Network Fund - £7000 - to set up a second group, and pay for holiday activities and club clothing 2007 South Central Connexions - £781 for Football with Eastleigh Football Club, June 2007 2007 Youth Opportunities Fund - £2400 for summer holiday activities 2007 Project Development Grant £2384 to continue Gym, Ski, QEII sessions 2007 Asda sponsorship - £1500 2007 Awards for All - £4882 to start Friday Football sessions 2007 BBC Children in Need: £20 580 paid over 3 years for Multi Sports Sessions 2008 Youth Opportunities Fund £3530 for 2 residential weeks at QEII centre 2008 Sainsburys volunteer support grant of £200 through Jeni Budd, one of our volunteers who works for Sainsburys 2008 Inner Wheel £500 towards summer activities 2008 Sponsored Walk raised £140 for the club, and £140 we donated to the QEII centre.
